What’s New at the Children’s Shelter of Hope?

PLENTY!!

We are excited to announce the launching of our new website.  Thanks to the diligent work of Dylan, our Treasurer and Communications Coordinator, plus all of our board members, we have a fresh new look which features completely updated information about our foundation and projects, a Blog, connections to Facebook and Twitter, and much more.  Check us out right away at http://cshf-us.org. Please let us know what you think of our new site by sending an email to info@cshf-us.org  We are proud of what we have put together; however, we are ALWAYS open to your comments and suggestions.

Also, please join us in welcoming the two newest board members to our team at Children’s Shelter of Hope Foundation (CSHF): Judy McCormick and Teresa Ryssemus.

Judy McCormick and her husband, Warren, from Gig Harbor, Washington have been friends of RISE and CSHF for many years.  They have both spent lots of time volunteering at RISE in the past and have a deep love for children in Mexico.  Judy is a talented writer, has tons of great ideas, has a HUGE heart, and is a wonderful return-board member to our foundation.

The Joy of Giving

Whenever we give money to a worthy cause, we do it with the faith that somewhere, somehow, someone is going to benefit from our donation. And that makes us feel good.  But imagine how much joy we would feel if we could see at least a photo of the person who was being helped and if we knew something about that person and their needs.

That is exactly what the 10×10 program provides:  photos and information about a specific child at the Refugio who is being helped by the CSHF. For $10.00 a month, or $120.00 a year, each donor has a personal connection with an individual child.

“The huge physical therapy room will be here, the kitchen and dining rooms there, the small private space for medical evaluations over there, and three therapy pools for exercises will be in that space that’s being framed in now . . .  .  and just beyond the large garden spaces for outside picnics will be the horses that will delight the children,” she reported to me as she literally danced around the new spaces taking shape very rapidly thanks to some generous donations.
